About Sapperton:

In this delightful village, stone cottages huddle together along leafy narrow lanes and the ancient village church stands proudly by, surrounded by hedgerow and trees, as if to keep watch over the village.

Ernest Gimson and the Barnsley Brothers, followers of William Morris, came to Sapperton in the 1890's, they loved the atmosphere of the area and all three made their homes here where they worked together for many years. Daneway House, the oldest house in the village became the scene for their famous furniture workshop and showroom.
